About us

The Young Scientists Council is an advisory body to the Minister of Science and Higher Education. It was established by the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the basis of the ordinance.

The greatest successes:

  • Change of program regulations in Iuventus Plus, Diamond Grant, Mobility Plus
  • Changing the definition of a young scientist
  • Introduction of changes in habilitation requirements
  • Tax exemption of scholarships for eminent young scientists
  • Tax exemption of Erasmus + scholarships
  • Introduction of the Sonata Bis program at the National Science Center
  • Ability to hire support staff in the Sonata Bis and Maestro programs
  • Possibility of lowering the teaching budget in the Sonata and Sonata Bis programs
  • Organization of a series of training and discussion seminars. „Mechanisms for financing research of young researchers in Poland”
  • Organization of the Young Scientists Forum „From a Young Scientist to a Nobel Prize Winner”
  • Co-organization of the debate „Young people in science. Debate about the directions of development of science in Poland „

 

Tasks:

  • Identifying existing and future barriers to young career development;
  • Preparing recommendations for career support tools for young researchers;
  • Bringing young scientists closer to learning funding mechanisms;
  • Fostering young scientists’ contacts with representatives of the business community and institutions implementing innovative learning solutions;
  • Implementation of the provisions of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in Scientific Units.
